Take a step back in time with a special community day in Bentley.

On Saturday May 9 there will be a chance for friends and family to meet up for a VE Day party at Bentley Pavilion between 11am and 4pm.

The 1940s style street party to honour the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II is being hosted by Spiltmilk Dance.

There will be entertainment for children, families and adults alike.

Go and sing along to wartime classics, browse the stalls on offer, taste treats from the 1940s, learn dances and play games from the era, hear local wartime tales, or just enjoy the free tea and cake.

There will of course be 1940’s fancy dress and hairstyles, for anyone attending fancy dress is optional, or you could just don red, white and blue.

This free event, which is open to everyone, is presented by Right Up Our Street.

Right Up Our Street is led by a consortium of Doncaster arts organisations and supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England until 2016.

Anyone who would like tyo get involved should call 07790821181 or email
