Comedian Stephen K Amos is an anagram of his own show title, The Spokesman, which is coming to Doncaster next week.
Mind you, he’s not keen on the idea of being a spokesman at all.
He said: “I’m looking at people who are spokespeople and what the notion means.
“I couldn’t put my hand on heart and be a spokesman for anything.”
He added: “I was asked to do some stuff for the troops but I’m on the fence. I don’t agree with fighting but I do appreciate what the troops are doing.
“I got approached by an anti-smoking campaign and I smoke. I could have said yes and just taken the money.”
After he did a documentary on homophobia, Stephen said he has been approached a lot to talk about gay issues in the news. He had to say no, he didn’t have any special knowledge about the diver Tom Daly when he came out.
He’s looking forward to what the audience at Cast in Doncaster will come up with next Thursday.
He said: “People come out with some gems that are just so left field when I ask who do you think I’d be a good spokesperson for? One said, ‘People whose accents don’t match their appearance’.”
