Choir set to sing for Doncaster hospice

A male voice choir is set to hit the high notes to hand a boost to St John’s Hospice.

Tickhill and District Male Voice Choir will present an evening of song to raise money for the Balby-based hospice later this year – and tickets are already on sale.

Formed in 1961, the choir is dedicated to carrying on the tradition of male voice singing. Members last visited the hospice at Christmas and were so impressed by the hard work of staff that they organised the event to raise money for the hospice and its patients.

Alison Constantine, voluntary services manager at the hospice, which is run by Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation trust said: “We are extremely grateful for the offer of a fundraising concert from Tickhill and District Male Voice Choir.”

The performance will be held at St John’s Information and Support Centre, near the hospice, at Balby on October 9, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm followed by light refreshments served by volunteers until around 9pm.

Tickets cost £6 each and are available directly from Alison Constantine who can be contacted on (01302) 796662.
