American jazz legend blows in

bawtry-based jazz trombonist Dennis Rollins won’t have to go far when he performs in the town’s Coco Ice cocktail bar in the Market Place on Sunday, July 24.

Mark Ellis will also be performing and the special guest is American saxophone legend Pee Wee Ellis, who is celebrating more than 55 years in the music business. The afternoon of jazz runs from 3pm to 6pm and admission is £5.

Minster music

musicians from Doncaster Minster, directed by Darren Williams, will be performing for Doncaster Arts and Museum Society members at their lunch-hour concert at the Chequer Road gallery on Wednesday from 1pm. Admission for non-members is £3.

Fire attack

A RUBBISH fire in an outbuilding behind a house in Earlesmere Avenue, Balby, caused extensive damage and is believed to have been started deliberately, said a fire service spokesman.
