For a superb night out in a safe environment mine hosts at The Mason’s Arms in Doncaster recommend a night in with them.

Landlord and landlady at the pub in Market Place, Jackie and Ian Bailey who have been at the pub for two-and-a-half years, have something for everyone and they have ambitious plans to expand what’s on offer.

A popular acoustic night is held every Friday with the next two dates for acts being keyboardist Paul Lowing on January 10 and acoustic guitar players Joshua Webley and Mike Ward on January 17.

A range of real ales are one of the reasons for the hostelry’s popularity in addition to the pub’s large range of whiskies and rums.

Currently on offer are real ales Doombar, Timothy Taylor’s Landlord, Old Peculiar, Tetley’s Cask ale and for the winter season Rudolph’s Reward and traditional scrumpy Old Rosie.

Landlady Jackie said: “Currently we have live folk music on Tuesday nights, Salsa on Wednesdays, live music on Fridays and a DJ on Saturdays. We even have a large enclosed courtyard, which we eventually want to have covered, where we hold a number of live music events as well as other activities.”

She added: “Our aim is to provide a safe environment where people can have a stress free night without any hassle. We are popular and have a lot to recommend us.”

The ambitious couple have even branched out into the restaurant business with opening of their joint venture restaurant in Market Road in two weeks time, close to The Mason’s Arms.

Beneath the intimate eatery Jackie said there would also be a cosy Caribbean room full of tasty authentic Caribbean rums.

She added: “This is just one of the ideas we have to expand our business. We aim top give people the best night possible.” For more information about what’s on offer call Jackie on 07850963340.
