Rockers Bang Bang Romeo are headed for the dancefloor! The band, which features Conisbrough’s Ross Cameron on guitar and vocals has had its track Adore Me picked up by Spanish superstar DJ Wally Lopez, who remixed it for his latest album Follow Me, which came out last week.

And Lopez is not the only big name to become such a BBR fan that he’s chosen to collaborate with BBR – in recent months the group has shared the studio with Ian Dench, writer of 90s smash hit Unbelievable for EMF, who has also written for Beyonce, Florence and the Machine and Ian Brown, Clive Martin producer for Nick Cave, The Stereophonics and Reef and Andy Treacy drummer with Faithless.

“I didn’t know much about him,” Ross, once voted one of the ten best looking men in Yorkshire in a radio poll, admitted. “How it happened was that our friend Ian Dench played the song for him and he liked it so much he cried when he heard it and really wanted him for his album.”

The remix should give BBR their first touch of chart success, but they’re well on their way to making it on their own – they’ve recently had a session on Radio 7’s Tom Robinson programme and their, as yet untitled, new CD is due out in the next few weeks.

“It’s looking good at the moment,” Ross, 30, said. “It feels like our name’s getting out there, which is very exciting.

“There are a couple of record companies interested, but they don’t seem keen on coming to Yorkshire so we’re playing in London a lot at the moment.”
