Conisbrough Summer Gala on Saturday August 2 is shaping up to be a day to remember.

Local organisations and businesses will have stalls on the welfare field, with live music and dance throughout the day in the main arena.

In the Ivanhoe Centre the coffee lounge will be open for refreshments and there will be a jumble sale in the main hall.

The gala starts at 11am and is on the Conisbrough Welfare Field next to the Ivanhoe Centre.

The Doris Banham Fun Dog Show is in the small arena and with classes such as ‘best biscuit catcher’, ‘best six legs’ and a veteran’s class making it a really enjoyable and light hearted event. Registration for entry into the show is at 11am with judging starting at noon.

The Wellbeing Bus will be on site, as will the Youth Bus with games and activities for older children and a fun fair for the younger children.

A spokesman said: “We have a new display this year, The Heartsease dance troupe with their band ‘The Jolly Beggers’ will be performing in the morning and afternoon and will be doing several country dances in which audience participation is compulsory!”

Street Vibes Dance Studio will be delighting the crowds with their hugely enjoyable dance displays in the afternoon.

A new stall this year will be a wellie pimping stall where children are asked to provide their wellies for pimping and at next year’s music festival in June 2015 the children will be invited to return their decorated wellies to be turned into planters.

Tickets for the Conisbrough Music Festival Launch Party will be available on the Conisbrough Forward stall. The Launch Party will be at the Castle Bar, Chapel Lane, after the Summer Gala . Bands playing include ‘The James Sunderland Collective’; ‘Ramble Gamble’; ‘Fluidity’; ‘THB’; and ‘Sam Wright’ with tunes by DJ Pendi on the main stage with an acoustic stage in the side room.
