'˜Breath-taking' Lucy's Roots date

Award-winning singer-songwriter Lucy Ward is the latest act to perform at the town’s Roots Music Club.
The 26-year-old from Derby, named best newcomer at the 2012 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, performs at the club tomorrow, Friday, June 10.

“Inspired by her roots in the folk tradition, she writes songs about people; she never shies away from the big issues, but also has a knack of singing about the ‘little moments’ that shape and touch us all.

Lucy has performed all over the world including two Glastonbury Festival main stages andhas released three albums to widespread critical acclaim.
