The restored gardens of Brodsworth Hall are set to come alive with light and music this autumn when the atmospheric spectacular Enchanted Garden makes a welcome return.
For just ten nights from Friday October 26 to Sunday November 4, visitors will be invited to follow a path around the gardens which reveals floodlit vistas in a variety of colours, offering a whole new perspective on the Victorian concept of a pleasure garden with a surprise around every corner.
“Daytime visitors to the gardens at Brodsworth Hall will be familiar with the winding paths that take you through and around different parts of the restored gardens, and indeed, the whole concept was designed so that the first-time visitor had a landscaping surprise around each corner – from the fern dell to the rose arbours,” said event manager, Jon Hogan.
He continued: “Staging this in the evening, with beautifully coloured lights and soft classical music playing in the background really amplifies the experience, with stunning reveals that take your breath away!”
Mayor of Doncaster, Peter Davies, said: “I would strongly recommend Doncaster residents and visitors from further afield to come and witness this fantastic show of lights and beautiful gardens. This is an event not to be missed.”
The Enchanted Garden opens at 6.30pm each evening and runs until 9pm (last admissions at 8.30pm).
Pre-booking is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment. Advance tickets are priced at £9 for adults, £7.50 for concessions and £7 for children, or £10, £9 and £8.50 on the door. English Heritage members receive a £1 discount per ticket.
