National Challenge Midlands 2 champions Doncaster Demons have launched a summer recruitment drive following their sensational and successful promotion push.

Demons, who are based at Doncaster Knights’ Castle Park headquarters in Armthorpe, have just completed their most successful season since the club was formed in 2004.

After remaining unbeaten all season, winning 13 and drawing one, Demons are now turning their attention to next season in National Challenge Midlands 1.

Skipper Gemma French said: “Our ambition is to be a recognizable force in the game of women’s rugby union, promote the sport and create beneficial links within the local community.

“Obviously we would love to hear from anyone who might be in a position to support us and our door is always open to new players coming into the area or simply wanting to try the game for the first time.”

Demons wrapped up their season with a 41-25 win over Mellish, finishing ten points clear of their nearest rivals Sleaford Ladies.
