Richard List says belief levels are soaring in the Doncaster Knights dressing room.

Knights recorded arguably one of their finest ever wins on Friday night when they went to Championship leaders Bristol and won 39-27.

Victory cemented third-placed Knights’ position in the top four, just three points behind Bristol.

And local lad List says there is a growing belief that the Castle Park club can end the season in a play-off position.

“There is a massive belief in the squad that we can finish in the top four of the Championship,” said List.

“We haven’t got the biggest pack in the Championship but technically we are pretty sound and we just keep working on that side of things (in training) week in week out.

“It’s good that the work of the front five is giving other players, such as Latu Makaafi, tries and it’s nice to know that we are doing our jobs.

“We work hard on our driving maul.

“There are teams in this league who are perhaps slightly better than us but we are closing the gap,” he added.

“All around this year our discipline is better and that’s something we’ve worked on. We are below ten most weeks and that’s what you need to win games.”

Doncaster launch their British & Irish Cup campaign in Jersey on Saturday, hoping to go one better than last season when they lost in the final to Worcester Warriors.
