Doncaster Knights: List wary of Jersey’s threat up front

Richard List says Doncaster Knights know exactly what to expect at Jersey today.

But the in-form prop is confident the Knights can get their British & Irish Cup campaign off to a positive start.

Doncaster reached last season’s final before losing to Worcester Warriors on home soil at Castle Park.

“Jersey always pose a lot of threats up front and we expect another tough game,” said List.

“As they did in the league game at Castle Park they’ll be looking to live off the penalties we concede and kick to the corner and try and drive us over the line.

“It’s not an easy place to go, though we won there in the league at the start of last season.

“But we’ll go there in a confident mood especially after Friday’s win at Bristol.

He added: “If there are any changes, as there probably will be, then I’m sure the boys who come in, especially anyone who hasn’t had a lot of game-time this season, will look to impress.

“The new lads have bought into what we do in the scrums and lineouts.

“The likes of myself and fellow prop Colin Quigley have been passing on our experience in the sessions we do and it’s paying off for the team because they are pushing us now.

“They want a place in the starting line-up and a bit of competition for places never hurt anyone.”
