Griffiths remains disappointed by the narrow defeat at Ampthill, even though Knights picked up two bonus points, and has called for the team to take a leaf out of the Bedfordshire side’s book.

“They got thumped by Ealing the previous week but bounced back to beat us,” he said. “Can we do the same against London Scottish?

“They are a well-organised and well drilled side and they’ve got some big units up front so will be a big threat at the catch-and-drive.

“They’ve also got some good backs, particularly centre Dan Barnes and full-back Luke Hibberd. They’ve also got a couple of ex-Doncaster players in Elliott Creed and James Malcolm.”

Victory for Knights, and defeat for several teams above them who have daunting away games over the weekend, could see Knights up as high as seventh and just a couple of points adrift of a top-six spot at the start of the second half of the season.
