Hill House’s hockey girls wiped the floor with the opposition to become double South Yorkshire champions.

The school’s under 14 and under 16 squads both reached the North regional finals, to be held in Manchester next month, with outstanding displays at the county qualifiers.

Victories over Sheffield High School, Westbourne School and Dinnington School saw Hill House’s U16s (pictured above) win all three of their matches without conceding a goal, scoring 12 in the process.

The U14s also comfortably defeated all of their opponents without conceding a goal.

Peter Shipston, Hill House’s head of hockey, said: “The girls have worked really hard this term, starting with pre-season training with former Great Britain international and England junior coach Duncan Woods.

“The girls are also embarking on an overseas tour to Holland for five days in half term which should prepare them well for the regional finals.”
