Doncaster are the only side in the North Hockey Women’s Premier Division still with a one hundred per cent record after a 3-1 win over Sheffield Hallam.
Goals from Lauren Firth, Ellie O’Neill and Bexx Woods sealed the Town Field club’s third straight league win as they bid to bounce back to the National League at the second time of asking.
Doncaster had knocked Hallam out of the National Cup with relative ease last month but a more structured visiting team posed more problems on this occasion, threatening the hosts on the break.
However, some prolonged spells of possession provided some fantastic opportunities on goal for in-form Doncaster.
The home side went two goals up before Sheffield halved the deficit to make things nervy - before a third goal wrapped up the points and kept Doncaster at the top of the table.
They travel to Chester on Saturday hoping to maintain their excellent form.
