Doncaster RLFC have signed Papua New Guinea international Jason Tali from Newcastle Thunder.
The 28-year-old centre, who represented his country at the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, has joined the Dons on a one-year deal.
He scored 14 tries in 13 appearances for Thunder last season.
Tali becomes the second Papa New Guinea star to join the Dons for the 2016 campaign, following the signing of Makali Aizue last week.
Head coach Gary Thornton told the Dons’ official website: “This is a massive signing for our club.
“To be able to attract and then sign a player of Jason’s ability is a fantastic achievement for all concerned.
“As a current Papua New Guinea international, his experience of playing in a World Cup will be invaluable to our younger players.
“He has power and athleticism out wide and will provide a real genuine strike threat for us out in the centres.
“He’s a proven try scorer and even through an injury ravaged season last year at Newcastle, he still managed to score 14 tries in 13 appearances.
“I’m sure he’ll be a huge hit amongst the Doncaster fans - we have a real exciting back line coming together, and Jason really adds to the quality in the squad. Again, he was a target for other clubs and shows how highly rated he is within the game.”
