The Dons will today discover if they are to face punishment after being accused of fielding an ineligible player.
The club were called before an independent operational rules tribunal last night after being charged with breaching the RFL’s rule D1.20.
It is alleged dual registration signing Ben Crooks was not eligible to play in last month’s clash with Keighley due to only having appeared for the club twice before the Championship’s registration deadline.
The Dons could face sanctions including a fine and/or a points deduction.
General manager Carl Hall offered the club’s defence to the tribunal last night but no official decision was announced by the RFL as discussions went on until late in the evening.
It is expected an announcement will come today on the Dons’ fate.
Paul Cooke’s side travel to Rochdale on Sunday as they continue their hunt for a second place finish.
