Danum Eagles under 18s maintained their perfect league record with a powerful 82-44 at home to Nottinghamshire Nova.

Eagles’ best defensive performance of the season saw them once again led by the prolific Liam Knapp who netted 29 points, including a host of rebounds.

Sam Speight produced his best overall display of the season with 12 points, 14 rebounds and nine steals.

While Mindi Razma impressed at both ends of the floor, scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and offering a presence on court that the Eagles have missed.

Eagles have won eight from eight and are just two points behind North East Conference leaders Kilmarsh Arrows, who have played two games more.

Meanwhile, Danum’s injury hit under 15s produced an impressive team performance to win 63-38 at York Eagles.

Both leading scorer Owen Bell (broken leg/wrist) and second leading scorer and leading rebounder Arjun Sanghera (broken nose) have been ruled out for the season.

But the young Eagles showed good character to net a fifth win out of eight.

Matt Green led all the scorers with 21 points and 15 rebounds.

Chetan Thapa also earned praise from head coach Martin Richards for 15 points and a solid defensive job.
