Crowle United came away with a double victory over Barnetby, claiming 3-2 and 3-0 wins.
In game one, United were 1-0 down early through poor defending. The ball went straight through Crowle’s back four and the Barnetby striker coolly finished past the outstretched Jamie Arrowsmith.
Adi Sherwood immediately scored a free kick wide from the right-hand side and just after the restart Ricky Girling netted from two yards out with a header.
The points looked to be shared after Barnetby equalised but a cool finish from Paul Tait late on clinched all three points in a tight game.
In game two, Barnetby were down to ten men early in the game. A Barnetby player lost the ball and in frustration lashed out at Gav Cooper, pushing him in the face. The ref had no alternative to send off the player.
United pushed on and soon enough found themselves one and two up in quick succession.
Adi Sherwood scored a carbon copy of the free kick from the first game and Scott Buttrick added a second from eighteen yards out.
For the third, Paul Tait latched on to a clever throughball from Michael Hill and slotted past the keeper to kill the game.
Crowle have not really looked a relegation-threatened side all season, however, the two games confirm that Crowle United will be safe for another season in Division One and they will look to power up the league when they entertain Brigg Servicemen at home in two weeks time.
