Doncaster Rovers Belles can clinch promotion with victory over London Bees on Sunday and, with such high stakes, Courtney Sweetman-Kirk is adamant there is no danger of her side underestimating their opponents.
With three games to go, the Belles are currently three points clear of Reading atop the FAWSL2 table.
More importantly, they have an eight-point cushion over third-placed Yeovil – with the top two earning promotion to FAWSL1, providing they meet off-field license requirements.
London Bees have just three league wins this term while Doncaster beat them 5-1 when the two sides met back in May but Sweetman-Kirk, who has netted 23 goals in 21 games this season, is taking nothing for granted.
“It is a great pitch at the Hive and it suits our style of play, we can get the ball down and play but we know London Bees are a good team and we know not to take them for granted,” she said.
“We have got to make sure that we work hard during the game to get the win.
“After all our games we look at analysis and look at how we have played. Hopefully we can get it right and get the result we are hoping for.
“We need to take everything as it comes and not look at other teams’ form.
“It is a competitive league and everyone can take points off you, we know how hard it is to get the points against anyone. However, we will work hard to get the result.”
