The 19-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan in League Two with Harrogate Town, scoring four goals in 23 appearances.

He is set to be made available for loan again as he enters the final year of his contract at Ibrox and national media reports have suggested he is in high demand.

But Rovers’ inclusion among those clubs interested is not accurate.

League One newcomers Morecambe, plus fourth tier sides Oldham Athletic and Tranmere Rovers have all been linked with the youngster, along with Scottish top flight side Motherwell.

Rovers boss Richie Wellens will be focusing on the loan market to bolster his attacking ranks, believing that is where the value lies for the forward positions.

He has already made positive progress on a number of loan targets with agreements likely to come closer to the start of the season.
