Shrews chief executive Brian Caldwell has claimed Rovers had been in touch about Okenabirhie, along with another League One club, but said nothing had progressed beyond that.

Henshall has put together an extensive list of potential targets in each position, contacting clubs for details. This is then presented to boss Darren Moore and chief executive Gavin Baldwin to decide on which signings should be pursued.
Okenabirhie has scored three goals this season but has not featured in a match day squad for Shrewsbury since the turn of the year. He is expected to leave the club this month having found himself down the pecking order, despite being last season’s top scorer.
He is out of contract in the summer and Shrewsbury are thought to be looking to cash in now rather than losing him on a free in the summer.

"At the end of the day Fejiri's disappointed with the lack of game time and if the right opportunity comes up for him that suits all parties then we'll have to look at it.
"There's no point keeping a player that hasn't had enough game time and wants to play elsewhere. That's a conversation we've had for a couple of months now.
"We've got a lot of firepower and Fejiri's the one that's missed out."
Rovers boss Moore denied holding interest in Okenabirhie earlier this week, but has played coy on numerous targets this month.
