Jason Lokilo has given 'food for thought' with last two performances for Doncaster Rovers

The Belgian winger has been excellent in the last two games for Rovers, delivering performances that match up to his potential.
Lokilo is out of contract in the summer and has yet to be offered fresh terms at the Keepmoat.

Hide AdCurrent Rovers boss Butler believes the 22-year-old’s biggest challenge now is to prove that he is capable of delivering such performances on a consistent basis.
And stretching his run of good form over the final two days of the campaign will go a long way towards doing that.
“If he continues it through the last two games then it’s great,” Butler said. “You can only ask that he proves himself in the games that are left.
“The challenge for Jason is to be consistent. We know he has the raw ability but he just needs to be consistent.

Hide Ad“Jason is one of the quickest players off the mark at the club. He checks and turns really quick but sometimes it’s just about getting him in those positions.
“He works very hard, with his running offensively and defensively.
“If he brings it all together in one game he is a great player, but it’s just being that consistent in each of his performances.”
Lokilo has made 39 appearances for Rovers since joining from Crystal Palace, initially on loan.

Hide AdThe peaks and troughs of his form is perhaps reflected in the fact that only 15 of his 39 appearances have come as starts.
Butler believes he has seen plenty of evidence on the training ground that Lokilo could be a very impactful player for Rovers in the years to come.
He said: “I believe there is a player there. It’s just unlocking his full potential. He’s still young and he’s still learning
“We’ve got to be mindful of that and be wary he will have performances that will dip and others that will be really good.

Hide Ad“In the second half at Peterborough he was really good and in the first half at Rochdale he caused their wing back no end of problems by finding pockets of space.
“If you get that Jason Lokilo then you’re winning half the battle.”
