Glen Harris has responded to his “dismissal” from Doncaster Rovers Belles on Twitter.
Belles confirmed the former Lincoln boss’ departure on Sunday after reports of his exit emerged on Friday.
Harris has since tweeted: “Following my dismissal I wanted to thank players for their support and commitment during my tenure and of course the fantastic supporters.”
Harris’ wording suggests it was a case of him being sacked, rather than him resigning.
Belles sit bottom of FAWSL1 having lost their opening three games of the season against Chelsea, Manchester City and Birmingham City.
Harris guided Doncaster to promotion back to the top flight in his first season in charge of the club.
Belles could announce their new manager on Tuesday but are awaiting FA clearance.
