As we stare at the end of what, to be frank, has been an abysmal year on the pitch there have been positives that have emerged off it.
The club has taken huge steps in fan engagement, accepting that the atmosphere and matchday experience needed immediate attention.
Alongside this, last June the Doncaster Rovers Supporters Group were formed, a free to join organisation that would build strong relationships with the club and help influence the decisions that are made and to ensure awareness of the supporters’ best interests at all times.
A year on and we’ve got over 1,000 members signed up and have had numerous successes, including the formation of the unreserved singing section, the Black Bank, which goes live from the start of next season.
It has been an absolute ball and I speak for the rest of the interim committee when I say it has been a pleasure to interact with the supporters we have thus far. Hopefully you will see the benefit of the work we’ve done, not just next season but for the long term future of Doncaster Rovers.
However, the time has come for us to officially ratify our positions and rules and hopefully see some new faces emerge, eager to be involved. Which brings us to our inaugural AGM which we will be holding this Sunday (May 3) at 3.30pm at Hyde Park WMC on Nelson Street.
We’re delighted to confirm that chief executive Gavin Baldwin and communication and media manager Ryan Murrant will be in attendance and will be giving a short talk on fan engagement and conveying the plans for the summer.

n Rovers fans have put more than £1,000 into a ‘Black Bank Fund’ to help buys flags and banners to improve the atmosphere at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Funds were raised online using Crowdfunder and from a bucket collection at the recent Fleetwood Town fixture.
The money will be used to fund flags and banners that have been designed and submitted by supporters. Designs will be chosen by public vote, with over 350 votes already cast at www.blackbank.co.uk.
