Doncaster Rovers midfielder Tommy Rowe will NOT face a spell on the sidelines after receiving the all-clear on a foot injury.

Rowe took a knock on the site of a previous injury during Saturday's draw with Wycombe Wanderers and was forced off at half time.

But an x-ray on Sunday revealed no damage had been suffered with Rowe given the all-clear to return to light training.

Boss Darren Ferguson said: "He's fine. No break. The best news of the week. He'll be fine for Exeter.

"It was just a bad impact and really bad swelling. I think it's because he's got a screw in his foot where he's done it before. It was right on there.

"We had the x-ray Sunday morning and it was great news. If it'd been a break, it would have been the whole season I think.

"A bit of luck at last."

The 28-year-old will not feature in Saturday's FA Cup clash with Oldham Athletic or the Checkatrade Trophy clash with Port Vale next Tuesday.

He said: "I probably would have given him a break anyway but he certainly wouldn't be ready for that.

"He'll just do a bit of gym work and get some rest into him which he probably needs now.

"It's the same with a few of the others because really this is about the only opportunity I'm going to get a bit of rest into them."
