Doncaster Rovers to host Newcastle United as part of pre-season friendly programme
Steve Bruce's side will visit the Keepmoat on Friday, July 23 in a 7pm kick-off to give Rovers the chance to pit their wits against top flight opposition.
The friendly will not act as a tribute game for James Coppinger who started his career with the Magpies and recently retired after 17 seasons with Rovers. It is understood that Rovers are considering a separate game in the future in order to mark Coppinger’s career.
