Theo Robinson has opened up about his frustration at his lack of recent game time with Rovers.

With his contract expiring at the Keepmoat in the summer, the 26-year-old revealed his desperation for game time as he looks to secure his future – hinting that it lies away from Doncaster.

Robinson says he is determined to put his name back in people’s minds before the end of the season after joining Scunthorpe United on loan.

And a goal inside the first minute of his debut for Iron last weekend may have done just that.

Robinson spoke of his frustration at his lack of game time with Rovers, admitting he felt he should have been given more in recent weeks.

“The move came about because I wasn’t really playing much at Doncaster,” he said. “I thought that I needed to try and get on loan and play some games for the last month of the season because I’m out of contract soon.

“I think it’s important for me to just put my name back out there as much as I can.

“It has been a frustrating time at Doncaster because I have not been playing much.

“I was only getting ten minutes or so from the bench and the last match I only got four minutes and I thought I could have been involved a bit more.”

Of Rovers’ last 12 matches, Robinson has played just 105 minutes and was an unused substitute in five matches.
