While most of the Rovers squad enjoyed a rest day yesterday following a late night return from Fulham on Tuesday, Theo Robinson was at Cantley Park.

The striker – who missed the chance to equalise from the penalty spot against the Cottagers – spent time working on his shooting.

And such dedication earned him praise from boss Paul Dickov.

With Nathan Tyson ruled out of the trip to Walsall due to new regulations on concussions and Curtis Main yet to recover from injury, Robinson is likely to lead the line on Saturday.

And Dickov has been pleased with the manner in which the 25-year-old has responded to his missed penalty woe.

“A lot of the boys were off on Thursday to rest them up, purely due to the time we got back from Fulham,” Dickov said. “But Theo has been in on his own, working on his finishing, on his shooting.

“And that’s what we want from him.

“He is very likely to get his chance at the weekend.

“He won’t be the first and certainly won’t be the last player to miss a penalty.

“I’m sure if the opportunity comes up then he’ll want to take a penalty again.”

Robinson started on the bench for the last two games and has not scored since the opening day of the season at Yeovil.

Harry Forrester is also likely to return to the starting XI at Walsall after his starring turn off the bench against Fulham.

Former Rovers player James Chambers should return to the Walsall squad after recovering from a hamstring problem.
