John has suffered with injury problems this season, but the promising youngster is reaching the end of his contract with parent club Wolves, and the report speculates that Boro could make a move in January.

Losing John’s services would be a big blow for Rovers boss Darren Moore going into the second half of the season.

The report does state that Wolves are said to have an option to extend his contract by a further 12 months, which could change the situation if the Molineux club choose to do so.
