Fitness work will take precedence, but the trip is also an ideal opportunity for Rovers’ new-look squad to get to know each other.

Rovers will return from north of the border to face Rossington Main on July 12, before games against Middlesbrough (July 16), Newcastle United (July 20), Kidderminster (July 23) and York City (July 26).

The club are keen to arrange another friendly on Saturday, July 30 - the weekend before the Football League season gets underway.

Rovers have announced that under-16s will be admitted to the Middlesbrough and Newcastle friendlies free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult (adults £10, concessions £5, juniors £1).
