Paul Dickov knows his side will have a target on their backs as Weston-super-Mare look to cause an FA Cup upset this weekend.

Rovers make the lengthy trip to the south west to face the Vanarama Conference South outfit on Saturday.

Weston are heading into the tie on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Concord Rangers and currently languish second from bottom in their division with three wins from 13 attempts.

However, despite the gulf between the two sides, Dickov is taking nothing for granted and insists Rovers will be in for a stern test at the Woodspring Stadium.

“It’ll be a tough game because they’ll be up for it,” said the Scotsman, who celebrated another Yorkshire derby win following their 2-1 success at Bradford City last Saturday.

“But we’re prepared. We had someone watch them at Concord Rangers at the weekend.

“Matches like this convey the magic of the FA Cup. Everybody will be looking for an upset.”

Dickov has plenty of FA Cup experience both as a player and a manager - and guided League One Oldham Athletic to a famous win over Liverpool in January 2013.

And he is all too familiar with what a strong cup run can mean to a club and its community.

“The FA Cup is a trophy that means a lot to me,” Dickov said.

“We drew Liverpool twice when I was at Oldham, once at Anfield which was a fantastic experience for everybody, and once at home when we beat them.

“I know what a good cup run can do, for the town, and in terms of finance.

“So we’ll be going all out to try and make the third round.”

l The BBC’s Football Focus programme will be broadcast from the Woodspring Stadium on Saturday, from 12.20pm.

l Doncaster’s JPT area quarter-final at home to Notts County has been pushed back a week and will now be played on November 18 (7.30pm).
