Paul Dickov hopes Doncaster Rovers can make it a ‘Super Sunday’ tomorrow.
Rovers’ trip to the DW Stadium to face newly-relegated Wigan Athletic was put back a day due to Thursday night’s televised Capital One Cup tie with Leeds United.
The 12.30pm kick-off makes it all the more an unusual start time for Doncaster.
However, Dickov is grateful for the change.
“I’m usually in the pub watching the football at that time,” joked Dickov.
“But it is what it is.
“If you want the big TV games you’ve got to make sacrifices.
“We had one on Thursday night and I think the Football League, Wigan and Southend (whose game at Rovers has been put back from next Tuesday to Wednesday) have to take a lot of credit because they could’ve made us play on the Saturday and the Tuesday.
“We’re thankful they’ve moved it back.
“And with it being an early kick-off it just means that hopefully I can get three points and then go and watch Manchester City against Chelsea!”
