Doncaster Rovers Belles are set to welcome five new arrivals as Millie Bright, Jess Sigsworth and Lyndsey Cunningham have also all committed to the club.

John Buckley’s side will be bolstered by the additions of Glasgow City midfielder Julie Melrose, Blackburn duo Danni Cox and Rhiannon Roberts, former Belles player Emma Johnson and Lauren Cresswell from WSL neighbours Lincoln Ladies.

Melrose will wear the number 7 shirt - previously Emma Thomson’s number who is returning to the USA for academic and coaching purposes.

Cox, a central defender, is also a former Belles player who has signed a 15-month contract until the end of the 2014 season and will wear number 19.

Fellow centre half Roberts has penned the same amount of time and will wear the number 20 shirt.

Utility player Johnson arrives from Sheffield FC, joining for 15 months, and will wear the number 21 shirt.

Finally, left-back Cresswell will sport the number 23 shirt and has penned a 15-month deal.

All are subject to FAWSL approval and paperwork being completed.

Meanwhile, Buckley’s squad has been further boosted by the commitment of three of his players.

England under-19s striker Sigsworth has officially signed until November 2014 along with fellow internationals Bright and Cunningham.

A club spokesman said: “The club are delighted that these players have committed their futures to the club and look forward to seeing how they progress throughout the remainder of this season and next season.”
