We’re heading into another big South Yorkshire derby on the back of some excellent results.
I thought we’d get a point against Nottingham Forest and we could’ve even nicked all three, that just shows how strong a performance it was at the City Ground.
Seven points from our last three games is massive and a clean sheet at Forest was enormous. Sam Johnstone and his defence deserve all the praise they get. And I’ve said it a million times but there’s no better midfielder in this division than Richie Wellens (pictured), he’s been phenomenal.
I’m really looking forward to the Wednesday game this weekend, it’s a huge match not just for Championship status but for Yorkshire pride too.
There’s an air of confidence about Rovers’ players at the minute and I don’t think they’ll be too happy if they finish Saturday’s game with anything other than a win.
The Owls are a very physical side but as long as we deal with that threat, I can’t see us losing.
Points at this stage of the season are obviously crucial and I think Rovers’ recent run has seen them edge closer to safety. All season I’ve thought they wouldn’t go down and I think they’re finishing better than the teams around them.
Barnsley have a monstrous run-in and I think Millwall have gone too. Yeovil could also be struggling with the loss of players through suspension, so Saturday’s game is even more vital to Rovers to maintain that gap they’ve got.
A couple of days later we travel to Burnley - a side that in my opinion have been the best I’ve seen in this division.
I really enjoyed the game against Burnley back in October, despite them winning 2-0, because I thought both teams attacked well and played good football.
Burnley are looking every bit a Premier League side so a point on Tuesday would be a massive result for us.
