Alliance League: Water result for Sprotbrough as Tap are defeated

Defending champions Athletico Tapmaker (Daniel Reed) slumped to a second Premier Division defeat in four starts, going down 3-1 at home to Sprotbrough.

Darren Fell and Scott Rhodes shared out the goals as Canal Tavern opened up a two-point lead at the top after inflicting a first defeat of the season on Stainforth (Trevor Hindson).

Eden Grove dropped to third after losing 3-1 at Toll Bar. Bullcroft Sports & Social got off the mark after two defeats with a 1-0 win over Rhino’s.

Fellow strugglers Graceholme also picked up their first points with a 5-2 win at Inter Stella, for whom Darrell Beardmore and Darren Bird netted.

ISG Doncaster continue to struggle and slumped to a third successive defeat (7-0) at home to Bentley Top Club. Lee Wilkinson and Michael Attard both notched a hat-trick with Jay Crossland also chipping in.

Wheatsheaf took over top spot in the Championship on goal difference after scoring six without reply against Tank to claim their fourth win in as many starts. Rlcky Temperol (2), Liam Hughes, Max Pulson, Callum Whiffen and Gary Williams shared out the goals.

FC Glasshouse, who also boast maximum points from four games, dropped down to second despite beating Armthorpe Albion 3-1 thanks to goals by Scott Wilson, Andrew Mellor and Ricki Crompton.

Willaspoons lost top spot in League One after losing their 100 per cent record in a 1-0 defeat at lowly Rosehill Press.

Rossington United are the new joint leaders in Division One, with New Mallard, following their 6-4 win at Campsall. Scott Henderson and Karl Lang shared four of the goals with Andrew Culshaw and Adam Fraser also netting.

Former leaders Willaspoons dropped to third after losing 1-0 at lowly Rosehill Press (Ryan Ambler).

The Vault were the division’s top scorers, winning 10-0 at struggling South Kirkby Reds.

Bessacarr posted a 5-0 win at Armthorpe Village. Walton’s Wonderers lost 6-2 at home to Maltings – Adam Francis (2), Michael Brown (2), Bobby Scurfield and Niall Horstead doing the damage.
