In a week that saw harrowing pictures of so called refugees trying to reach Europe, the story of 25 life prolonging cancer drugs being withdrawn due to cost is over-looked, the story of an ex-serviceman being told he is unlikely to be housed by Tower Hamlets, his Labour controlled council, gets a small mention.

I NOTE with a mixture of sadness and disbelief that the authorities in the town have suddenly realised what a great heritage we have in railway engineering.

Call made for safer cycling

However recent experience in cycling on the roads around the Isle of Axholme make me believe that this campaign should be extended to rural areas too where ‘taking to the road’ on one’s bike can be equally dangerous.
