Young people wanted for fire service programme in Barnsley

The fire service is looking for young people to be part of its Prince’s Trust Team Programme in Barnsley.

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue is holding a taster day at Barnsley fire station on 8 January from 10am to 2pm, to generate interest for the first of its programmes which begins later that month.

The Princes’ Trust Team Programme is a 12-week personal development course, offering work experience, qualifications, practical skills, community projects and a residential week, working with 16-25 year olds with an emphasis on people leaving care, young offenders, educational underachievers and the long term unemployed.
