Budding politicians from West Butterwick Primary School Council learned about the issues facing the village when they met up with their own parish councillors.
Youngsters invited Councillors Jackie Shadlock, Trevor Lewis and Gerald Coggon to learn more about how being a parish councillor compares to the role and responsibilities of being a school councillor. They were amazed to learn that coun Gerald Coggon had been a Parish Councillor for over 40 years - five times their own lifetimes!
Pupils and councillors had shared concerns including dog fouling and speeding traffic. They were pleased to learn that a bid for a multi-use games area near the village hall, which they had written in support of, had been successful.
