The X Factor auditions are coming to Meadowhall for the second year running as the hit TV talent show holds open auditions on Wednesday April 1 as part of a nationwide search for its next superstar.
With Sheffield home to a vibrant music scene and nurturing top talent from Joe Cocker and The Human League right through Arctic Monkeys and X Factor’s own Lucy Spraggan, the show’s producers have high hopes for their second visit to the city.
The auditions will take place Wednesday April 1 between 10am-9pm when budding musicians can simply turn up and sing for the chance to go on to perform in front the nation’s favourite judges.
Meadowhall Centre Director Darren Pearce said: “We are delighted to be hosting The X Factor auditions again at Meadowhall following on from a successful visit last year which saw over 500 hopefuls, so this year we are hoping to do the same if not more!”
“Sheffield has a great music scene with some extremely talented acts, so I’m sure we will see some of our local musicians go through to the next stage where they meet the judges and hopeful even to the live shows.”
