The Antonov 124 is the largest military transport aircraft in the world and touched down at the airport yesterday following a flight from Turkmenistan.

For thirty years, it was the world's highest aircraft gross weight production cargo airplane and second heaviest operating cargo aircraft, behind the one-off Antonov An-225.

The Antonov An-225 has also landed at the airport and was filmed at Robin Hood Airport last November.

The giant of the skies has made several visits to Robin Hood in recent years and was pictured touching down yesterday by our photographer Lesley Pickersgill.
