Visitors travelling into Swinton may be lucky enough to see the Woodman roundabout’s Christmas tree and lights switch-on tomorrow.
The roundabout is an important gateway into Swinton - lying at the junction of the A633 and the A6022 - and the Christmas tree is always a focal point for people travelling into the area.
The big lights switch on will happen at 3.30pm on Thursday, November 12.
For the third year running, the lights and tree are being sponsored by local company, Constant Security of Cliff Street, Mexborough.
Commercial Director of Constant Adam Lee, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Christmas tree and lights for the third successive year.
“The Woodman Lights are a real focal point for the community at Christmas time, and many of our staff live in the local area, and we all really appreciate being involved in local initiatives such as this.”
Swinton Ward Councillor, Ken Wyatt, thanked Constant Security added: “We are greatly appreciative of Constant Security’s continued support. It does make such a real difference at this time of year. The roundabout is so well placed and is passed by thousands of vehicles – it is such a seasonal welcome to the town. Local people always enjoy the Christmas tree and really appreciate it.”
