Woman rescued from car near Crowle

AN ELDERLY woman had to be rescued from her car after it span off the road in to a water-filled dyke.

The incident took place late yesterday afternoon on a bend of the A161 between Crowle and Eastoft.

The woman was not trapped but was helped from the vehicle by paramedics and a fire crew, before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
No other vehicle was involved.

A fire spokesman said that all drivers need to take extra care in the current cold weather and icy road conditions.
