Volunteers are needed to help collect for the annual Poppy Appeal in Doncaster and surrounding villages.

Organisers are asking people to offer a couple of hours of their time to make this year’s appeal the biggest yet.

No military background is necessary just a strong desire to support our Armed Forces and their families.

Debbie Westlake, community fundraiser said: “You’ll have a great time and will meet some wonderful people and don’t worry, you never need to approach the public they will come flooding to you ”

Every poppy helps The Royal British Legion to support the Armed Forces both past and present and their families and £1.6 million is spent each week on delivering direct practical care and support to members of the Armed Forces community.

More than 40 million poppies will be made and distributed across the country this year and overseas by more than 350,000 collectors, aiming to raise £37 million.

If you want to show your respect and support for our Armed Forces family by volunteering two or more hours of your time in October and November contact Debbie Westlake by email dwestlake@britishlegion.org.uk or call on 07880 780 207.
