VIDEO: Snow brings rush hour disruption to Doncaster

Snow was falling in Doncaster this morning with flakes sticking early on and disrupting rush hour traffic.

Reports of slippery roads were made by motorists during rush hour. One driver described losing control in a skid near Bennetthorpe. Another described how she overshot a junction in the town centre because of the conditions.

The snow was forecast to stop by the end of the morning.

The weather hit bus services. Due to ice on Roberts Road in Edlington, service 15 is diverted along Edlington Lane to Tait Avenue turning circle and back along Edlington Lane. Service 15 is not serving Broomhouse Lane, Roberts Road, Clarke Avenue, Hatter Driver and Tait Avenue.

Earlier, due to the ice on Owston Road in Carcroft and the cars parked by parents dropping children off at Carcroft Primary School, service 50 was diverted away from Owston Road to operate along High Street andChestnut Avenue until the parked cars cleared.

Bawtry Road had standing traffic causing delays to services 91, X91, 57, 55 and 58, and all otherservices were subject to delays of up to 30 minutes.
