A woman hit by a train near to a Doncaster viaduct earlier today has now been taken to one of the borough's hospitals for treatment.
The woman, whose age is not yet known, was hit by a train near to Bawtry viaduct just after 11am this morning.
A British Transport Police spokesman told The Free Press: "Officers from British Transport Police attended the incident, which was reported at about 11.15am.
They added: "A female was detained by the Mental Health Act.
"She has now been taken to a Doncaster hospital for treatment."
Commuters travelling between Doncaster and Retford have been experiencing delays of up to two hours following the incident.
Services are expected to return to normal shortly.
