The Doncaster Knights cheerleaders have two reasons to celebrate.

The 40 strong dance troop, who perform at every Knights home game, have invested in new kit and their sponsor Rejus have renewed their sponsorship.

Coach Becky Dyas organised said: “We’re really lucky to have Rejus supporting us. They have supplied safety mats, pom poms, two sets of expensive kit.

“They help us be proud of being cheerleaders for Knights.”

Owner and Director of Rejus, Mrs Lynds said, “To have seen this team grow over the years from a small group of five or six to 40 strong, with kids of all ages from three to 19, train sometimes twice a week, is just wonderful.

“They never cease to amaze me at the quality of the dances they perform, and the fun they have. No matter what age, everyone dances.

“To be part of it and helping it happen is a privilege and what we are all about.

“We do this as part of our continual ‘giving back’ initiative, but we can only do this because of our wonderful clients, schools, offices, factories and historic buildings whom we support with a range of facilities management services.

“Go and watch Doncaster Knights storm ahead for an end to another great season’’

Michael Casey, Castle Parks Media and Communications Manager, said: “The cheerleaders do a great job week in, week out, come rain or shine they do their routine before kick off and half time.”

The cheerleading team frequently get involved in competitions and exhibitions throughout the region, judging and competiting, and winning medals.

If you’re interested and want to give it go yourself you can join their weekly training.

They train every Wednesday at Castle Park from 5pm till 7pm.
