Turbine go-ahead

A WIND turbine on an 18-metre steel mast can be built on the access road to Belton Grange, behind the golf club at Hirst Priory, North Lincolnshire Planners have decided.

The mast will support a single 11-kilowatt turbine, and be mounted on a concrete base five metres square.

Members of the council’s planning committee felt building the mast would harm neither the character of the area nor the living condition of neighbours.

But members however did set a limit on the noise it could make, and insisted that a red light be fitted to the top for the guidance of aircraft using the airfield at Sandtoft.
