Fire crews were called out to rescue a trapped dog in Conisbrough, Doncaster, last night.

The person looking after a Lhasa Apso while the owners were on holiday called in to say it had tried to get through railings on Doncaster Road but had become stuck.

The firefighters spent about five minutes forcing the railings apart to release the pet, which was uninjured.

Doncaster crews were also called to West Moor Lane, Edenthorpe, around 1am today where a vehicle is believed to have been deliberately set alight.
