Two South Yorkshire men seriously injured in head-on collision

Two drivers have been seriously injured in a head-on collision in South Yorkshire.

The collision occurred at around 8.45 yesterday morning and involved two cars - a silver Volkswagen Sharan people carrier and a silver Honda Civic.

The crash occurred as the two drivers travelled along the A628 to the junction with the A616, near to the Flouch roundabout.

The driver of the VW, a 40-year-old Rotherham man, and the Honda driver, a 53-year-old Barnsley man, are both currently in hospital with serious injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone who saw the cars in the lead-up to the crash and to anyone who witnessed the collision.
